Off season Projects

Home / How It works / Off season Projects

Well after two seasons at our new Location, and New Home, ie. GFI’s on everything!

#1 project in the off-season (2018)  “Waterproof (IP68) everything” the 20 amp GFCI’s seems to trip if you just sneeze on them, let alone the 2-3 inches of rain a week we seem to be having from September to January in Texas.

My DC controllers seem to be good with the 3 pin waterproof outputs and the waterproof cat5 inputs”

But the AC controllers are a completely different story:

Mega tree with 96 channels and 96 extension cords does not play well with the rainy weather.

Enter the Aviation Connector Plug + Socket with 2-9 contacts My Mega strings are three channels White, Green, and Red so the 24 strings with 9 pin waterproof sockets and plugs are not only easier to connect than the 96 extension cords, they are “Waterproof”

My Mega tree will be the first Item I upgrade with the new connectors, I will post more when the parts get here from China.
